How We work

Evidence based and evidence informed practice tools

At Ana Liffey, we know how important it is to provide supports which are grounded in evidence based practice and evidence informed practice. Here are some of the tools we use to provide supports to service users:

  • If you are calling us for support for yourself, we will chat with you to see what kind of help you need. We will then agree when and where to meet you within the next 5 working days and we will go from there.

If you are calling us to refer a loved one, we will ask you to share their contact details with us with their consent. From there, we will make contact with them and encourage them to use our services or signpost them to another suitable service.

  • Yes, we will not disclose any information about you to anyone without your consent. The exception to this is if we are worried you are going to harm yourself or another person. This will be explained to you when you start accessing our support.

  • Not at all, we work with people no matter where they are at with their drug use. Even if you have taken substances on the day you are supposed to meet us, we would encourage you to meet with us, we are happy to meet you even if you have drugs or alcohol on board.

  • Not necessarily, it depends on the type of support you are seeking from us. Many of our service users come to us for help with their health, housing, relationships and other issues.

  • That is often possible, depending on what county you are accessing us from. We try to match people with the worker they are most comfortable with, and find it easiest to open up to.

  • Yes, you can. If all you want from us is sterile drug paraphernalia through our Harm Reduction Supplies service, we will provide that for you. We will always offer you Naloxone and training to use it. We will always offer you support for your needs. However, you do not need to avail of these in order to use our Harm Reduction Supplies service.

  • Yes, absolutely, we would be delighted if you told your friend about our services and maybe even took the step to introduce them to us.
