Volunteer with Ana Liffey
Dublin region:
Volunteers play an important role in supporting Ana Liffey's work. Through the Poole Volunteer Programme, volunteers contribute across a range of services while gaining valuable experience, training and insight into harm reduction, homelessness, health and social inclusion.
Named in honour of former chairperson and long-time volunteer Dr. David Poole, the programme reflects our belief that meaningful community involvement strengthens both our organisation and the people we support.
The Poole Volunteer Programme
The Poole Volunteer Programme offers opportunities to contribute across many areas of Ana Liffey's work. Depending on your interests and experience, volunteers may support direct service delivery, outreach activities, administration, events, communications or organisational development.
Volunteers gain practical insight into areas including:
Harm reduction and addiction support
Key working and case management
Group work and community engagement
Outreach and community services
Drug policy and advocacy
Charity administration and operations
Our aim is to ensure every volunteer has a positive and rewarding experience while making a meaningful contribution to our work.
Support, Training & Development
All volunteers receive support throughout their placement with Ana Liffey.
This includes:
Individual supervision from a designated staff member
Guidance and mentoring
Access to relevant training opportunities
Participation in team events and learning activities
Ongoing support throughout the volunteering experience
We want every volunteer to leave with new skills, knowledge and confidence, while feeling valued as part of our wider team.
Student Placements
Ana Liffey is committed to providing high-quality student placement opportunities.
Students may gain experience across a range of services including addiction support, outreach work, harm reduction, group programmes, administration and policy development.
We work hard to match students with suitable opportunities and provide meaningful learning experiences that support academic and professional development.
As demand for placements can be high, we encourage students to apply as early as possible.
